The Brazilian company, Aliança, was founded in 1951 to operate in coastal shipping and soon ranked among South America's most renowned shipping enterprises. In pursuit of the implementation of the active market policy and the expansion of the market presence of Hamburg Süd, the Oetker Group acquired the company in 1998.
Aliança is today a top address for container liner services, linking South America with Europe, North America and Asia. Aliança also operates in the Cabotage and Mercosur trades, providing intermodal and value-added services.
As a Brazilian carrier, Aliança is managed as brand or rather affiliated company.
